Duckets (historically known as Pixels) are the secondary currency on HabboS. While Credits are used for high-value trading, Duckets are the "utility currency" used for effects, promotions, and essential building blocks.

Recognizable by their pink/purple color, Duckets are designed to be spent freely without worrying about saving up.

1. Pixels vs. Duckets: What changed?

Veterans of the original hotel might remember "Pixels".

  • In 2012, the original game replaced Pixels with Duckets.
  • On HabboS, we embrace both terms. Whether you call them Duckets or Pixels, they function as the "free" currency that allows everyone to participate in the economy, even if they have 0 credits.

2. Earning Duckets

On HabboS, it is very difficult to run out of Duckets because we are extremely generous with them.

The Start Bonus

New players often ask: "How do I get pixels?"

  • You don't need to do anything. When you register, you instantly receive 48,000 Duckets. This is enough to buy thousands of effects immediately.

Activity Wages

Just like Credits, you earn Duckets for being active.

  • Rate: +100 Duckets every 15 minutes.
  • Hourly: +400 Duckets per hour.

Achievements

The most fun way to earn them is by playing the game. You receive Ducket bonuses for:

  • Hosting a room for 1 hour.
  • Walking on 1000 tiles.
  • Changing your look.
  • Making friends.

3. What can you buy with Duckets?

Unlike Credits, Duckets cannot be used to buy Rares. However, they are essential for gameplay.

1. Avatar Effects (Enable/FX)

This is the #1 use for Duckets.

  • Want to fly with a hoverboard? Drive a car? Burn with fire?
  • All these Temporary Effects cost Duckets.
  • Example: A 24-hour "Torch Effect" might cost 150 Duckets.

2. "Rentable" Furniture

Some basic items are available for Duckets. This includes:

  • Base Blocks: Simple colored blocks for builders.
  • School/Hospital items: Basic roleplay furniture.
  • Wallpaper/Flooring: Basic designs to start your room.

3. Event Promotions

Occasionally, special "Ducket Rares" appear in the shop. These are unique items that can only be bought with Duckets, rewarding players who have been active for a long time.

4. Can you trade Duckets?

No. Duckets are Account Bound.

  • You cannot use the :pay command to send Duckets to friends.
  • You cannot convert Duckets into Credits (except during special administrative events).

This system prevents players from creating 100 fake accounts just to farm millions of Duckets to transfer to their main account.

5. Limits & Caps

  • Original Habbo: You are limited to holding 1,300 Duckets (unless you pay real money).
  • HabboS Private Server: We have removed the limit. You can hoard Unlimited Duckets. If you have 1 million Duckets, you keep them!
